  • Leah Hickman, a 21-year-old college student at Marshall University, was found dead in a crawl space in the basement of her apartment building on December 21, 2007. She had been missing since December 14. On March 13, 2008, police reported that Hickman had been strangled to death on the day she went missing, and that the murderer was probably someone who knew her and the apartment building. They also say she was not sexually assaulted. Hickman had planned to go visit her parents the day she disappeared. Her keys, purse and suitcases were found at her apartment, and her car was parked where she left it. As of June, 2008, the crime is still unsolved.
