Professional football player Laurence Maroney is a running back who most-recently played for the Denver Broncos in the National Football League. On Monday, January 17, 2011, Maroney was one of five individuals arrested in St. Louis, Missouri. Maroney and the others were riding in a black Infiniti Q56 when they were pulled over by police on suspicion of smoking marijuana. Police found drugs and guns in the vehicle and made the arrest, but did not file charges at the time. Laurence Maroney Biography
Laurence Maroney was born on February 5, 1985, in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Normandy High School in his hometown where he earned four-consecutive All-Conference selections and was selected as the St. Louis Player of the Year in 2002. Maroney went on to play college football with the Minnesota Gophers football team in the NCAA. He played three years with the Gophers, finishing his college career with 660 carries for 3,933 yards and 32 touchdowns. He topped 1,000 rushing yards each season, becoming only the third player in Big Ten Conference history to do so.
