Retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Laura Fay has been named by New York City congressman Vito Fossella as the woman with whom he has been having a secret affair. Fossella was arrested in Alexandria, Virginia on May 1, 2008 for drunken driving and called Fay to post his bail. Fossella also admitted that he is the father of Fay's three year old daughter.

Court documents show that Fay had been married twice. Her first marriage ended in divorce in 1989 after she was discovered to be having an affair. Her second marriage, in 1995, ended in 2004 after her husband was discovered to be having an affair. However, sources have reported Fay's affair with Fossella began as early as 2001.
