  • MLB Career

The Minnesota Twins originally drafted Hawkins in the 7th round of the 1991 amateur draft. He would make his MLB debut for the Twins on April 29, 1995. After using Hawkins as a starting pitcher from 1995-1999, the Twins decided that Hawkins skills were best suited for a role in the bullpen. Hawkins became a free agent in 2003 and signed with the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs would later trade Hawkins plus cash to the San Francisco Giants, in exchange for Jerome Williams and David Aardsma. Hawkins appeared in 45 games for the Giants, but they would trade him to the Baltimore Orioles for Steve Kline before the start of the 2006 season. After a season with the Orioles, Hawkins signed a free agent contract to pitch for the Colorado Rockies. Hawkins appeared in 62 games for the Rockies, before signing with the Yankees before the start of the 2008 season.MLB.com: http://mlb.mlb.com/team/player_career.jsp?player_id=115629 LaTroy Hawkins Bio]
