  • Review Quotes

    • "The moral of Last Chance Harvey is that AARP members deserve cookie-cutter movie love, too. Thank goodness it's old pros Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson doing the familiar dance of love, feet squarely planted on the shoe prints of too many romantic comedies to count. Their ages - he a spry 71, she pushing 50 - are the freshest things about Last Chance Harvey. Casting isn't the only thing old about this movie. Last Chance Harvey is merely an inferior addition to the list of menopausal romances usually starring Jack Nicholson and/or Diane Keaton. Hopkins' movie may as well be titled Something's Gotta Give As Good As It Gets."—Houston ChronicleHouston Chronicle: Cliches Weigh Down Last Chance Harvey (January 15, 2009)
    • "[T]here aren't many movies made for adults and I am grateful for this film. Remember, even though no films are perfect, we need to support films that show real women (and men) so that more of them get made and then we can even have a debate about a character like Kate. Cause if we don't support it, I can guarantee we won't have more like it."—Huffington PostHuffington Post: Last Chance Harvey (January 16, 2009)
    • "The trick with romantic comedy isn't being surprised. The trick is being not surprised, in the right way. These characters barely exist as written. Yet you warm to Thompson and Hoffman. Last Chance Harvey is what it is: a pleasant put-up job, held up by world-class pros."—Chicago TribuneChicago Tribune: Last Chance Harvey Review (January 16, 2009)
