Larry the Cable Guy (Dan Whitney) is an actor, stand-up comedian and former Radio DJ. As Larry the Cable guy, Whitney performed with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Larry the Cable Guy was born in 1963 in Nebraska. His trademarks are his sleeveless shirts, baseball cap with a fish hook on it, deep southern accent and his catch phrase, "Git-R-Done". Larry's act that contained redneck one liners, caught the attention of Southerners and brought some attention to him by television producers. By appearing on Comic Strip Live and Evening at the Improv, his fan base increased past rural America. However, Larry the Cable Guy got the most attention when he performed on the nationally syndicated "Bob and Tom Show" on radio. In 2000, Jeff Foxworthy invited the comedian to join him and Bill Engvall on his Blue Collar Comedy Tour. The tour was very successful and grossed $15 million and sold more than one million copies when it was released on DVD therefore launching Larry the Cable Guy into a super star.http://www.cmt.com/artists/az/guy_larry_the_cable/bio.jhtml
Comedy Central Roast
Larry the Cable Guy's roast aired on Comedy Central on Sunday, March 15, 2009. The event's host was comic Lisa Lampanelli, better known as the "Queen of Mean." Other roasters included standard Roast attendees such as Greg Giraldo, Jeffrey Ross and Nick DiPaolo as well as special guests Toby Keith, Warren Sapp, Gary Busey, Reno Collier, Maureen McCormick and Jeff Foxworthy. Larry's fellow "Blue Collar" comedian Bill Engvall was not in attendance, but did appear via video. Larry claimed to have selected the roasters himself.
