Professional football linebacker Larry Foote plays in the National Football League for the Detroit Lions.
Foote, who was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers on May 4, 2009, signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Lions two days later. The financial terms of the contract were not immediately announced.ESPN.com: Lions Sign Foote to One-year Deal

After the Steelers won Super Bowl XLIII, the Detroit Free Press published a report that Foote wanted to leave the Steelers and sign with the Detroit Lions. Prior to playing in the NFL, Foote played college football with the Michigan Wolverines in the NCAA. Starting in 28 games, Foote recorded 212 tackles, 11 sacks and three interceptions. His 44 stops for a loss ranked fourth on the Wolverines all-time list and helped him earn All-American and All-Big Ten honors, as well as the Roger Zatkoff Award for the Wolverines' best linebacker.Official Website of the Pittsburgh Steelers: Larry FooteAfter college, Foot was selected 128th overall in the 2002 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He made his professional debut that same year, playing in 14 games and recording 20 tackles.
