Early Career

Seinfeld
In 1989, David co-created Seinfeld with his friend, comedian Jerry Seinfeld. He has admitted that the character of George Costanza, played the in show by Jason Alexander, was based on himself, and Alexander claims that he was playing the character as a take-off on David's true-life personality. (An episode in which George quits his job and then continues going to work, hoping everyone ignores his departure, is allegedly based on David's actual departure from SNL). The show went off the air in May 14, 1998, and remains popular in syndication to this day.
Curb Your Enthusiasm
In 1999, David made an one-hour mockumentary for HBO titled: Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm, alleging to show the behind-the-scenes preparation for David's HBO comedy special. The next year, David expanded the concept into the improvisational HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, in which he plays an alternate-reality version of himself.
Politics
Both David and ex-wife Laurie are outspoken on political and environmental issues. David is a sometimes-contributor to the political blog The Huffington Post, and recently wrote a provocative response on the website to the Hillary Clinton "3 AM" ad.
