Larry Brown is the Head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats. He is the first coach in the history of basketball to coach separate teams to the NCAA Championship, and the NBA Championship. As a player he won a Gold medal with the 1964 USA Basketball team. In 2002 he was enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. He is widely regarded as one of the best basketball minds in the game, and for his propensity to change franchises after several years.

Early Life
Lawrence Harvey Brown was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 14, 1940. In his youth, he would attend Long Beach High School, then later the University of North Carolina under the tutelage of Dean Smith. He was selected for th 1964 Olympics where he would win a Gold Medal with fellow players Bill Bradley and Walt Hazzard.Coaching Career
His head coaching career would start with the ABA's Carolina Cougars the the Denver Rockets. He would move on to become the Head coach of the UCLA Bruins Basketball team. He would lead the team to the NCAA Championship title game losing to Louisville. He would make other coaching stops with the New Jersey Nets, and the University of Kansas, where he would named coach of the Year in 1998 while leading the Wildcats to a National Championship. He would move again back to the NBA where he made stops with the San Antonio Spurs, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Indiana Pacers and the Philadelphia 76ers. He would pick up the NBA Coach of the Year with the Sixers. In 2004, he would lead the 2004 Pistons to the NBA Championship against the heavily favored Los Angeles Lakers. He would later coach for the New York Knicks but would leave after only one season. He is currently the head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats.Larry Brown Timeline
