Assault Charge
On August 14, 2010, Stephenson was arrested for assault after the mother of his child accused him of pushing her down the stairs. She was treated for her injuries at a local hospital and later released. The Pacers released a statement after the arrest that read "We have been made aware of a situation involving Lance Stephenson early Sunday morning in Brooklyn. Stephenson's girlfriend was later identified as Jasmine Williams. Prep Career
During his freshman season, Stephenson averaged 20.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists, leading the Lincoln Railsplitters to the PSAL Championships. His numbers improved in his his sophomore season in 2007, recording an average of 26.2 points, 10,7 rebounds and nearly six assists per game. After another successful season in 2008, Stephenson ended his career with Lincoln in 2009 as the all-time leading prep scorer in the state of New York with 2.946 points. He was selected to play in the McDonald's All-American game on March 31, 2009, and was expected to announce his college choice that same day. The game passed however with Stephenson stating he needed more time to discuss the decision with his family.
