In April of 2009, Briggs, who visited with fans with a bandage on his hand, stated that he accidentally cut himself while shaving, using an old-fashioned straight razor. He entered NFL as a third-round selection (68th overall) by Chicago in the 2003 NFL draft. He was named to Pro Bowl for 4 consecutive seasons (2005-2008). According to STATS, Inc., he leads all linebackers and ranks second overall in stuffs over the past five seasons.
