  • 'N Sync singer Lance Bass made a public service announcement for the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network. Bass spoke out in protest of gay discrimination and harassment. The announcement is scheduled to air on April 18, 2008 to promote the upcoming National Day of Silence on April 25, 2008. The National Day of Silence is a day when students throughout the nation protest bullying, harassment and discrimination in schools by taking a vow of silence. Bass reportedly made the public service announcement in honor of 15 year old Lawrence King. King was shot and killed in Oxnard, California in February of 2008 by another student for wearing feminine clothing to school.
