Lance Allred is a hearing impaired basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA and is the NBA's first deaf player.
Allred played his first organized game of basketball for the Church of the Latter Day Saints in the eighth grade.
Allred says that his hearing impairment may help in some situations because the arena's are sometimes so loud that no one can hear and he plays a "more visual" game and can feel and see things coming, getting ahead of the play.
Allred claims to be the only athlete in his family describing his parents and siblings as "just a bunch of academics".
