  • Bullfighting and the Lamborghini

Lamborghini's trademark bull crest was inspired by creator Ferruccio Lamborghini's Taurus zodiac sign. Almost every Lamborghini has been named after some aspect of bullfighting. The Miura was named after bull breeder Eduardo Miura. The Islero was named after a Miura bull that killed matador Manolete. Espada is a sword, and Jarama is an area known for bullfighting. The Diablo and Murciélago were both famous bulls, and the Gallardo is a type of bull. An estoque is a type of sword traditionally used by matadors. In fact, the most famous Lamborghini which did not follow the bullfighting naming tradition is the Countach, which translates loosely to "wolf-whistle."Google Book: Lamborghini By David Jolliffe, Tony Willard
