    Prior to playing in the NFL, Woodley played college football with the Michigan Wolverines in the NCAA. He had a standout college career, becoming the first Wolverine to win the Lombardi Trophy as the top lineman, and the Ted Hendricks Award as the top defensive end. Woodley finished his college football career with 25 sacks, second on Michigan's all-time list and 10 forced fumbles, a school record.     After college, Woodley was selected 46th overall in the 2007 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played 13 games with the Steelers in 2007, recording 14 tackles and four sacks.
