  • Lamar Alexander is a U.S. Senator from the State of Tennessee. Alexander won re-election to the Senate in 2008, defeating Democrat Robert D. Tuke. Before becoming Tennessee's senator, Alexander was the state's governor and the U.S. Secretary of Education under George H. W. Bush.
