The Labour Party is a moderately-liberal political party active in England, Scotland, and Wales which has been the dominant party in those regions since the 1920s. It was formed out of trade union and socialist movements in the late 19th century. The Labour Party represents working class citizens, and is currently the political party in power in the United Kingdom.

- February 27, 1900: Labour Representation Committee (LRC) founded
- 1901: The Taff Vale Case, a labor dispute between railway workers, strengthens support for the LRC
- 1906: LRC wins 29 seats in parliamentary elections
- February 15, 1906: Parliamentary members vote to change name from LRC to "The Labour Party"
- June 27, 2007: Gordon Brown becomes Prime Minister of Britain soon after taking over party leadership from Tony Blair
- May 22, 2008: Electoral Commission announces that Labour Party has currently received GBP3 million in donations and is GBP17 million in debt
