• Golden Globe Award winning actress Kyra Sedgwick won Best Actress for a lead role in a dramatic TV series for her portrayal of "Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson" on the TNT show The Closer. Sedgwick has starred in a number of movies including Born on the Fourth of July, and The Game Plan. She is also the wife of actor Kevin Bacon.

  In a conference call on June 10, 2009, Sedgwick disclosed that she was one of the investors that lost money in Bernie Madoff's Ponzi Scheme. The actress did not state how much money she lost with Madoff's fraudulent investments, but did state: "We lost hard-earned money that we worked very hard for that was what we thought in a safe place.
