Luxury Stay
For a sense of what old Japan was like, look no further than the Hiiragiya. The rooms are elegantly designed in the traditional Japanese style, and the surrounding gardens are about as peaceful a setting you will find in Kyoto. From the decor to the authentic Kaiseki cuisine, the Hiiragiya epitomizes luxury and style in the highest sense.Affordable Stay
It is very rare for a low-priced hotel to receive an "exceptional" rating from Frommer's, but Yuhara near Kyoto Station has earned that accolade. The rooms are modestly decorated, and the hotel itself is next door to a restaurant that serves excellent Japanese food for those on a budget. Despite the low price, however, keep in mind when booking: Yuhara has an 11PM curfew, and guests are required to vacate their rooms from 10AM to 3PM.-
