On August 10, 2008, 20-year-old Kymberly Clem was asked to leave the Richmond Mall in Richmond, Kentucky, because a security guard said the dress she bought in the mall the day before was "too provocative."

Kymberly Clem claims she had been in the Richmond Mall about ten minutes on August 10, 2008, when a security guard approached her, saying her dress was "too provocative." Clem claims the guard then escorted her out of the mall. According to Clem, she has worn more revealing outfits to the same mall before without any problems. The dress in question was a short, tight dress with abstract patterns on it.

"I just want them to understand that they were wrong and this was a decision that was made by a personal opinion. I want to speak for everybody else who has been discriminated against but has never said anything.
