Canadian professional ice hockey player Kyle McLaren plays for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.

Career Highlights
McLaren was drafted out of the Tacoma Rockets of the Western Hockey League in the 1995 NHL draft ninth overall by the Boston Bruins. He joined the full roster of the Bruins in the 1995-96 NHL season, playing 74 games, and earning a spot on the NHL All-Rookie Team. He continued with the Bruins for the next seven years. On January 23, 2003, McLaren was traded from the Bruins to the San Jose Sharks. The following season he helped the Sharks reach the 2004 Stanley Cup Western Conference Finals, where they fell to the Calgary Flames. McLaren did not play during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout, then re-signed with the Sharks on August 11, 2005, to a reported three year, $7.5 million contract.
