Kyle Farnsworth is a right-handed pitcher for the Detroit Tigers. After graduating from Milton High School in Milton, GA, Farnsworth played baseball at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. In 1994 the Chicago Cubs selected Farnsworth in the 47th round of the amateur draft. Farnsworth made his major league debut with the Cubs in 1999, starting 21 games, with a record of 5-9, and a 5.05 ERA. In 2005 the Cubs traded Farnsworth to the Detroit Tigers for Roberto Novoa, Scott Moore, and Bo Flowers. The Tigers would later trade Farnsworth to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for Roman Colon and Zach Miner. After the 2005 season, Farnsworth signed a free agent contract to join the Yankees.
Strengths
Farnsworth is a hard thrower, with a fastball that has been known to reach 100 mph. He compliments his heater with a slider and a two-seam fastball[1]. He can be a dominant strikeout pitcher.
Weaknesses
Not as strong against lefties. Prone to give up the long ball[1].
