Kyla Ebbert is a college student and an employee of Hooters. During Labor Day weekend in 2007, she was asked to leave a Southwest Airlines flight because an employee claimed her outfit -- a miniskirt, tank top, and sweater -- was too provocative. After adjusting the outfit, she was allowed to reboard the plane.
Southwest Airlines eventually apologized for the incident. Some saw irony in the incident, since Southwest Airlines marketed itself in the 1970s via stewardess outfits of hot pants and go-go boots, and a slogan of "sex sells seats." Since the incident, Ebbert has done a pictorial for Playboy Magazine.
