    • Charged with obstruction of justice in the firing of Gary Brown to hamper, obstuct, and interfere with a criminal investigation in order to hide Kilpartick's relationship between Christine Beatty.
    • Kilpatrick testified under oath, that he did not fire Gary Brown, and that he did not know that Brown was investigating Kilpatrick, and the Manoogian Mansion party.
  • Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy launched perjury charges against Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. On March 24, 2008, Worthy released charges of perjury, obstruction of justice, and misconduct in office. The scandal started when sexually-explicit text-messages between the married Kilpatrick, and one of his female aides surfaced. In total Kilpatrick has been served with 12 counts of criminal charges. On a March 25 arraignment, Kilpatrck pled not-guilty to all charges.
