• Kurt Russell is an American actor best known for his performances in Escape From New York, The Thing and Backdraft. More recently, he has starred in such films as Miracle, Poseidon and Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof.
  • Early Life

    Russell began his acting career at the age of ten, in Elvis Presley's film, It Happened at the World's Fair. He went on to play temporary roles in many television shows, including Gilligan's Island and Lost in Space. He also had a ten-year contract with The Walt Disney Company and starred in many of their films. In the early 1970s, Russell went on to play professional baseball, most notably as second base man for the Anaheim Angels (now known as the Los Angeles Angels).
