Converse announced a limited-edition sneaker release that will pay tribute to Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain. The sneakers come in black and white and have Cobain's scribbles and song lyrics as designs. Former wife Courtney Love gave permission to Converse to make the Cobain sneakers.

Kurt Cobain was the singer/guitarist and songwriter for the Seattle grunge band Nirvana. The band formed in 1987 and broke ground with their 1991 breakthrough album Nevermind. He was born in 1967 and committed suicide in 1994 from a self-inflicted gun shot wound. He was married to singer Courtney Love and left behind a daughter Frances Bean Cobain.
