Krusty the Clown is a character on The Simpsons, an animated television show on the Fox Broadcasting Network. Krusty the Clown made his first appearance in a The Simpsons short vignette on The Tracy Ullman Show. He is the host of a children's show, The Krusty the Clown Show. Krusty is depicted as a clown who is a competent children's entertainer but leads an out-of--control lifestyle. His addictions include gambling, alcohol, cigarettes, Percodan, and burning valuable objects he owns. His fast lifestyle has caused him to have a heart attack and subsequently have a pacemaker installed. Krusty is also shown to be remarkably greedy, licensing the Krusty brand to every product imaginable, from cereal to hair removal tools.
