Kristian Huselius enjoyed a successful five-year career in the Elitserien (Swedish Elite League) before moving to North America to join the National Hockey League in 2002. He played for the Florida Panthers through 2004, returned to Sweden for one year and then rejoined the Panthers in 2005. Huselius was traded to the Calgary Flames in December of 2005.
Another Move?
At the end of the 2007-2008 season, Huselius will be an unrestricted free agent and most sports analysts are doubtful that the Flames will resign him. A quick skater and skilled play maker, Huselius has been criticized by Calgary coaching staff and even benched a handful of times during the 2007-2008 season for his apparent inability to play the heavy-hitting defensive game Calgary promotes.
