• In the middle of the 1990s, Kris Aquino was engaged in a troubled relationship with Purefood’s basketball player, Alvin Patrimonio.• Kris was involved in a relationship with the married ex-Paranaque mayor and ex-PBA basket ball player Joey Marquez. Their relationship had a tumultuous ending. In an interview with her co-host and ABS-CBN broadcaster Korina Sanchez, she admitted that a sexually transmitted diseases called Chlamydia was transmitted to her by Marquez. The interview in the ABS-CBN news program, TV Patrol, became the highest-rating news segment in Philippine newscast history.
• She is currently married to PBA professional player James Yap under the team of Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants. Yap is 10 years younger than Kris when they had their civil marriage on the 10th of July, 2005.
