The Kremlin is a government complex in Moscow comprised of several palaces, towers and cathedrals which also serves as the residence of the President of Russia. The land where The Kremlin stands has been inhabited by people since the 2000 BC but it was not until the 1320s when a series of churches were erected making them the first stone structures built on that land. The current Kremlin has walls and towers that were built in the late 15th century by Italian artisans. Other key structure within the complex include the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael, Ivan the Great Bell Tower, Cathedral of the Dormition, and the Cathedral of Annunciation. Notable nearby structures include Saint Basil's Cathedral and The Red Square.
