  • Kraft Foods are a major food conglomerate, and North America's second largest food and beverage company, behind PepsiCo. Kraft is owned by Altria Group, formerly The Philip Morris Company.

    James Kraft started as a traveling cheese salesman, and the company evolved from his J.L. Kraft and Bros. Company, which was selling 31 varieties of cheese nationwide by 1914. The company went public in 1924 and became Kraft Cheese Company. It was first acquired by National Dairy Products Corporation. James Kraft died in 1953.

    Kraft Foods own several brands recognized worldwide, including Cheez Whiz, Chips Ahoy!, Nabisco, Oscar Mayer and Planters. They also package and distribute all Starbucks and Taco Bell grocery store products.
