Early Life
Koyie Dolan Hill was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on March 9, 1979. He later attended Eisenhower High School. He continued his education at Wichita State University. Pro Career
Hill made his MLB debut with the Dodgers on June 22, 2000. In 2004, he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks with Reggie Abercrombie and Bill Murphy for Steve Finley and Brent Mayne. In 2006, he was claimed off of waivers by the New York Yankees. That same year during the off season , Hill signed with the Chicago Cubs. MLB.com: Koyie Hill
Amazing Comeback
In 2007, Hill accidentally cut off three of his fingers in a table saw accident. After hours of surgery, his fingers were successfully re-attached. Hill spent most of the 2008 season in the minors attempting to rehab his fingers and to re-learn how to grip a baseball and bat with his injured hand. Hill was able to make a full recovery.
