In early March 2009, Trend Micro warned that Koobface and two phony Facebook applications were harvesting users' information. How It Works
The worm uses the private message feature of Facebook or MySpace to send an e-mail to the user's contact list. The recipient is e-mailed what appears to be a video, with a requirement to upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. If the recipient clicks on a link that looks like an Adobe Flash Player update, a malicious software program will search that user's hard drive for personal info like credit card numbers.Reuters: Destructive Koobface virus turns up on Facebook (December 4, 2008)Facebook Friends List
