Kodak Company History
Kodak was founded by George Eastman and Henry Strong.http://www.kodak.com:80/global/en/corp/historyOfKodak/eastmanTheMan.jhtml?pq-path=2217/2687/2689 The company name is an anagram that Eastman and his mother came up with because the name was short, hard to mispronounce, and did not resemble anything else and could only be associated with this product.http://www.kodak.com/global/en/corp/historyOfKodak/evolutionBrandLogo.jhtml The film that the company produced, in the early years, replaced what was then the existing photographic process of using glass plates to develop images. http://www.kodak.com/global/en/corp/historyOfKodak/eastmanTheMan.jhtml?pq-path=2689&pq-locale=en_US The company's first camera was introduced in 1888 along with the slogan, "You press the button, we do the rest". Kodak had begun to make photography more accessible to people. Kodak, a multinational company, has focused in more recent times on digital imaging. Kodak's top industry competitors include Canon, Fuji and Sony. http://www.hoovers.com/company/Eastman_Kodak_Company/rfhiff-1.html
