K'NEX are building toys made of plastic rods and connectors which are color-coded by shape and length. The system appears to be a descendant of traditional Tinker Toys (though is unaffiliated with that product). According to the product's official website, the Pennsylvania-based manufacturer is committed to environmentally friendly, energy efficient practices.

How it Works
The main elements of K'NEX are cylindrical plastic rods and snowflake-like connectors that allow the user to join the rods a various angles. Like Lego and Erector Set, K'NEX offers themed sets and advanced features, including wheels, gears and miniature motors—but also includes innovative programmable controls. -
