History
The Klondike bar was invented by the Isaly family around 1900. It was created by dipping square slices of ice cream in swiss milk chocolate. The treat was believed to be named after the Klondike River in Canada. The unique snack was originally only available in Ohio and Pennsylvania. They were featured in Isaly Dairy stores. Then in 1978, it was expanded to other states including New York State and Florida. In 1982, the distribution was then expanded nationwide. The Isaly Klondike Company would eventually be acquired in 1993 by the Good Humor Breyers Company. Today there are several variations of Klondike bars including Neapolitan Bars and Chocolate Bars. The company is famous for its slogan "What would you do for a Klondike Bar?"-
