Kiss of the Spider Woman is a 1985 film directed by Hector Babenco, written by Leonard Schrader and based on a book by the same name from writer Manuel Puig. It stars William Hurt, Raul Julia, Sonia Braga, Jose Lewgoy, and Milton Goncalves, and tells the story of political prisoner Valentin Arregui and rapist Luis Molina and their life in a prison cell in Brazil.

Plot Synopsis
We follow the endeavours of two prisoners in a Brazilian cell. One is political prisoner Valentin Arregui, the other is homosexual rapist Luis Molina. The two form a forced friendship, as Valentin is being slowly poisoned by his captors, hoping to force information out of him. During the course of time, Molina tells the story of a German Nazi propaganda movie, thereby befriending Valentin more and more. -
