  • Early Years

    Prior to his NHL career Maltby played for the Owen Sound Platers of the Ontario Hockey League for three seasons starting in 1989. He was drafted 65th overall in the 1992 NHL draft by the Edmonton Oilers. He was immediately placed with the Oilers' American Hockey League minor league affiliate, the Cape Breton Oilers, for his first season. Maltby made his NHL debut in 1993, playing 68 games his rookie season. Two seasons later Maltby was traded to the Detroit Red Wings on March 20, 1996.
  • Detroit Grinders

    Playing on the "Grind Line" with fellow Wings Kris Draper and Darren McCarty, the Wings won back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships in 1997 and 1998. Maltby earned his third and fourth Stanley Cup rings in 2002 and 2008 with the Red Wings.
