On September 23, 2007, the Joe Cool, was found by the U.S. Coast Guard floating approximately 60 miles south of the island of Bimini. Kirby Archer and Guillermo Zarabozo were charged with with four counts each of first-degree murder, kidnapping and robbery in the deaths of the crew members of a chartered boat named the Joe Cool. The Joe Cool crew members were Jake Branam, his wife, Kelly, his half-brother Scott Gamble and first mate Samuel Kairy.

3. September 23, 2007: A few hours after the Joe Cool was discovered, Zarabozo and Archer were found approximately 10 miles away on a life raft

September 26, 2007: Reports emerged that Zarabozo claimed hijackers took control of the Joe Cool, fatally shot the captain, Jake Branam, killed Branam's wife Kelly when she became hysterical, killed the third crew member when he refused to throw the bodies overboard and finally killed the fourth crew member when he too refused to do so. 5. September 27, 2007: Zarabozo was charged with lying to a federal agent
