King of the Hill

  • King of the Hill is an animated sitcom that airs on Sunday Nights on the Fox television network. The show is about Hank Hill, the manager of Strickland Propane, a business in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas that sells propane and propane accessories. When not working with a slavish devotion to propane, he helps to solve the problems of his know-it-all wife Peggy, his eccentric 13-year-old son Bobby, or any of a large cast of wacky neighbors. The show was created by and features the voice of Mike Judge, creator of Beavis and Butthead and director of the film Office Space. In October 2008, Variety reported that the program will end after thirteen seasons.Variety: King of the Hill Wrapping Production (October 20, 2008)

  • Miles Away from Springfield

For most of the show's run, King of the Hill has aired as part of block of shows that includes Fox ratings-getter The Simpsons. Though both shows are animated comedies about families, King of the Hill differs from The Simpsons in that it does not venture into the absurdist territory tread often by The Simpsons. King of the Hill never veers too far from realistic representations; characters are never gravely injured only to rebound in the next scene, and continuity is kept as it would be for live-action actors.
