The Kindle is an e-book reader created and sold by Amazon.com. Content is downloaded via Amazon Whispernet. The original version featured a six-inch diagonal display with 800 x 600 pixel resolution and 256 MB of internal storage. The Kindle is only available for sale in the United States because Amazon Whispernet does not work internationally.
At a press conference for Wednesday, May 6, 2009, Amazon's CEO introduced the Kindle DX, a new, larger Kindle model. The screen on the Kindle DX is larger and has a built-in PDF reader.CNNMoney: Amazon's newest Kindle takes aim at newspapers (May 6, 2009)
