Kimberley Locke was a contestant on American Idol season 2 where she was placed third behind Clay Aiken and winner Ruben Studdard. Locke grew up singing and by high school was a member of her school's singing and performance group. She attended Nashville's Belmont University to study Business and sang in various local bands before friends and family encouraged her to try out for American Idol's 2003 season.
Since her time on American Idol Locke has had a successful recording career. Her debut single "8th World Wonder" entered the Billboard Singles Chart at #1 in 2004. Additionally, Locke has appeared on the VH1 Celebreality series Celebrity Fit Club. During the series she lost a total of 27 pounds and went on to lose a total of 13 more pounds after the show.
