"Killzone 2 is a taut and muscular game, a shooter that gives back more than you put in, provided you have the intestinal fortitude. It may take its time revealing its true depths and pleasures, but the journey is well worth taking."—EuroGamerEurogamer: Killzone 2 Review (January 29, 2009)

"...[T]he incredible presentation of the title, which makes you feel like you've fallen into the middle of a warzone. Guerrilla has managed to make a technical masterpiece for the system that first-person shooters on the PS3 will be judged by from here on out."—IGNIGN: Killzone 2 Review (January 29, 2009)

"Our only other complaints are the total lack of a co-op mode, which is unacceptable in this era of shooters. Also surpising for such a high-profile title are the characters' lack of personality... The other characters are utterly and instantly forgettable, which is a crying shame. If it's a gripping story you want, play Uncharted or Metal Gear Solid 4. Killzone 2 gives you balls-out non-stop shooting with visual effects so nice you'll still be stopping to admire Guerrilla's work four hours into the game."—CVGCVG: Killzone 2 Review February 2, 2009)
