Kiefer Sutherland is an American actor and star of the FOX action-adventure television drama 24. He is the son of film and television actor Donald Sutherland.

Sutherland was born, along with twin sister Rachel, on December 21, 1966, in London, England. He is the son of actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, both of Scottish decent. Sutherland married Camelia Kath, the daughter of Chicago guitarist and singer Terry Kath on September 12, 1987. Sutherland and Kath have a daughter together named Sarah Jude and the couple divorced after just three years of marriage in 1990. On June 29, 1996, Sutherland married Kelly Winn and divorced in 2004.

In 1983, Sutherland played the role of Bill in the film Max Dugan Returns. From there, he went on to play in the films Stand By Me, Young Guns, Renegades, Young Guns II, A Few Good Men, Phone Booth, and Paradise Found. His more recent works include The Sentinel, The Wild, and Mirrors. Sutherland is well known for his role as Jack Bauer on the television series 24.

Sutherland's most notable role has been Jack Bauer on 24. Howard Gordon, executive producer of the show, has been in talks with Sutherland that the show may stop with eight seasons on television.E! Sutherland was arrested on September 25, 2007 for impaired driving in West Los Angeles. He was sentenced to 48 days in jail on December 5, 2007. He began his jail sentence the next day and was released on January 21, 2008.
