  • Khufu, the son of King Sneferu and Queen Hetepheres, was an Egyptian Pharaoh that reigned during the fourth dynasty, from 2589 BC, to 2566 BC. He began his reign in his twenties. Reports indicate that his reign lasted for 23 years, while others sources indicate it was longer, possibly as long as 50 to 65 years.

    The Khufu ship was discovered in 1956, in a pit in the Giza Pyramid Complex. It was placed there around 2500 BC. It is believed to have been built for King Khufu.
