Football Career
Johnson began his career playing college football with the USC Trojans. He was selected first overall in the 1996 NFL draft by the New York Jets, marking the first time since 1984 that a wide receiver was picked first overall. Johnson made his NFL debut that same year, recording 844 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 games with the Jets. His stats improved in the years following, scoring a career-high 10 touchdowns in 1998 and earning his first of three Pro Bowl selections. In 2000, Johnson was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played four season with the Buccaneers, including helping the team win Super Bowl XXXVII in 2002. Johnson was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in 2004, then released in 2006.
