Kevin Thompson

Kevin Thompson is a Major League Baseball outfielder, currently playing in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. After graduating from with honors from Western Hills High School. The Minnesota Twins drafted Thompson in the 18th round of the 1998 amateur draft. Thompson declined a contract however, and went on to play baseball at Grayson County Community College. In 1999 Thompson was drafted again, this time by the New York Yankees in the 31st round. Thompson signed a contract with the Yankees on June 7, 2000. After six years as a Yankees prospect, Thompson made his major league debut on June 3, 2006. In 2007, the Oakland Athletics selected Thompson off waivers. The Pirates claimed Thompson off waivers on October 15, 2007.
