  • Kevin Millar currently plays with the Baltimore Orioles in the position of first base. Before coming to the Orioles he played for the Boston Red Sox, where he became a fan favorite. Millar phrased the term "Cowboy Up" to rally the team up. The "cowboy up" phrase was trademarked by Millar and makes .34 cents every time it is used. Millar has collected royalties from his trademark, totaling $750,000 through 2007. Millar began his baseball career in the minors and soon the Florida Marlins bought his contract in 1993, but he broke into major league play in 1998. Millar was a replacement player during the 1994-95 Major League Baseball strike, and now is barred from joining the Major League Baseball Players Association. In 2003, Millar was traded to the Boston Red Sox, where he played in the World Series in 2004, helping the Soxs win. Millar is one of the few players to get three home runs in one game, while playing in 2004 with the Red Sox. In 2006, Millar signed with the Baltimore Orioles as a free agent, reaching base in 52 consecutive games. He is listed in the Top 500 Home Run hitters of all time. In the 2007 American League Championship Series, Millar threw out the first pitch at Fenway Park for the Boston Red Sox vs. Cleveland Indians game. Millar is the nephew of retired baseball outfielder Wayne Nordhagen, who played with the Chicago White Sox
