• Kevin Garnett is an All-Star power forward for the Boston Celtics. He was named the 2003-2004 regular season MVP and is considered by some to be one of the best all-around players in the history of the NBA.     Garnett missed two months of the 2008-2009 regular season and the entire 2009 NBA Playoffs with swelling in his knee. He underwent surgery to remove bone spurs on May 26, 2009.

    Garnett was drafted fifth overall in 1995 by the Minnesota Timberwolves, After showing promise, Minnesota signed Garnett to a six-year, $126 million contract during the 1997-1998 season. Despite criticisms of the deal, Garnett became an All-Star and the Timberwolves finished with their first winning season in franchise history.

    During the 2003-2004 season, Garnett won the MVP award and the Timberwolves finally made it out of the first round of the playoffs. They reached the Western Conference Finals, losing to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Timberwolves never recovered from the loss and Garnett became frustrated with the franchise's lack of desire to put together a winning team. He was traded to the Boston Celtics on July 31, 2007.

    In 2008, after winning their first two playoff series in seven games, the Celtics finished off the Pistons in six games and met the Lakers in the NBA Finals. In game six of that series, both Ray Allen and Garnett scored 26 points and the Celtics won their first championship since 1986. The other member of the Big Three, Paul Pierce, was named Playoff MVP.

    After winning the championship, Garnett was interviewed by ABC sports correspondent Michelle Tafoya. Garnett appeared overwhelmed by emotion and screamed "Anything's possible!" toward the crowd.

    On January 5, 2009, Kevin Garnett responded positively to questions regarding rumors of Stephon Marbury possibly joining the Celtics if he is released by the Knicks. Garnett stated, "I'm not opposed to Steph. I feel Steph still has a lot of basketball in him, I know his IQ is very, very high. He is one of the best point guards out there to play with.
