American actor and musician Kevin Bacon was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bacon's prolific work in film inspired the game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" where players attempt to "link" any actor to Kevin Bacon using as few films as possible. His filmography includes Frost/Nixon, Apollo 13, Footloose, Mystic River, Flatliners, A Few Good Men and Animal House.

Kevin Bacon and his wife Kyra Sedgwick are reportedly the latest in a long line of celebrities to have lost money in Bernard Madoff's $50 billion Ponzi scheme.
